Australia Likely to Tour Pakistan Again for White-Ball Series in Early 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

ISLAMABAD:<\/strong> Cricket Australia (CA) has confirmed its intention to send its national team to Pakistan early next year for a white-ball series, according to a report by the Press Trust of India (PTI). This marks a continued commitment to fostering stronger cricketing ties between the two countries.<\/p>\n

CA chief executive Todd Greenberg, during a virtual media session, highlighted Australia\u2019s positive outlook on touring Pakistan again. He expressed confidence that the upcoming tour, scheduled as part of the International Cricket Council\u2019s (ICC) Future Tours Programme (FTP) for 2025\u20132027, would be beneficial for both cricket boards.<\/p>\n

Strengthening Bilateral Ties Through Cricket<\/h3>\n

As per the FTP, Australia is expected to visit Pakistan in February\u2013March 2026 for a series of three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Greenberg mentioned that efforts are being made to also include red-ball matches in the tour schedule.<\/p>\n

He recalled the successful 2022 tour when Australia played Test and white-ball matches in Pakistan after nearly 24 years. \u201cOur experience in 2022 was excellent, not just on the field, but also in terms of hospitality and security,\u201d Greenberg said, noting that both boards are now working closely to expand bilateral engagement in the near future.<\/p>\n

Potential Participation of Pakistani Stars in Big Bash<\/h3>\n

Greenberg also touched on the Big Bash League (BBL), stating that the inclusion of top Pakistani players could add significant value to the tournament. \u201cBBL franchises are eager for quality overseas players. If leading Pakistani cricketers are available, they\u2019ll be in high demand,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
