Known for its premium handcrafted desserts, the shop has renamed iconic sweets like Mysore Pak, Moti Pak, and Gond Pak.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"560\" data-end=\"795\">The new versions? Mysore Shree, Moti Shree, and Gond Shree.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"797\" data-end=\"1031\">Owner Anjali Jain explained the decision, saying, \u201cPatriotism should live in every Indian heart and home \u2014 even in what we eat.\u201d The shop claims this change reflects national pride and a response to the ongoing tensions with Pakistan.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1033\" data-end=\"1060\"><strong data-start=\"1033\" data-end=\"1060\">What \u2018Pak\u2019 Really Means<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1062\" data-end=\"1285\">The term \u2018pak\u2019 in Indian sweets doesn\u2019t have any political connection. It originates from the Sanskrit word <em data-start=\"1170\" data-end=\"1176\">paka<\/em>, meaning \u2018to cook\u2019, and is used in Kannada to describe the sugar syrup base essential in Indian confections.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1287\" data-end=\"1412\">Despite its culinary roots, some customers reportedly began feeling uncomfortable with the term \u2018pak\u2019, prompting the changes.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1414\" data-end=\"1444\"><strong data-start=\"1414\" data-end=\"1444\">Other Shops Join the Trend<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1446\" data-end=\"1723\">Bombay Misthan Bhandar and Agarwal Caterers quickly followed suit, scrubbing \u2018pak\u2019 from their sweet offerings.
